Day 11 - Feb. 28 - Marathon Key to Key West

Woke early and ran down to Key West for breakfast at Banana Cafe.  Wonderful crepes in many variations and all cooked by a French chef retired to Key West.  Really superior food.  Artistic license on the first manipulated photo.

Not our typical style but after breakfast we smoked a cigar!! Our cigar shop hangout was calling out and as it is adjacent to our Key West hotel, Casa 325; both right in the heart of Duval Street, we succumbed.

Then a Cemetary walk....

Felt like we were slipping into our Key West routine.  Walk, eat, walk, smoke, swim, walk, drink, walk, eat, smoke, walk, sleep.  Many variations, lots of photography, but this about covers it.

Checked into Casa 325 around 3pm and unpacked. 

 

The FJ breathed a huge sigh of relief.  It had been packed to the gills.

Lunch at Kelley's. Great mango gazpacho.

Then more walking about.  Stopped for a beer at Charlie Macs in mid afternoon.   

Returned later in day for some brisket.

This first nights sleep however was noisy at the hotel.  Lots of banging through the night and Charles crashed his bedside lamp to the floor when he chased a wayward pillow.  I think he was wrestling a bear in his dream state but he admits nothing.
